“Well, if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be…”
Many people use it to describe love/relationships.
What to make of this phrase? I know I’ve certainly used it before, but it’s a bit ambiguous.
Does it mean that you should give up and leave it up to fate? Put it off for a while and try again? Or just let it be and see what happens?
Perhaps the ambiguity suits the subject. I mean, no one really knows about love, right?
Delivering bad news is one of the toughest things for me to ever do. Whether by phone, email, or in person, it’s always hard.
Perhaps part of it is not wanting to be the messenger and being associated with it.
But I think another side of it relates to the decision itself and just hating to say no to a good person. Maybe it’s basic human nature and emotion to want to work with others, rather than turn them away.
With the increasingly busy lives of college students, I think I can speak for most of them when I say with every Friday afternoon comes relief.
There’s the chance to finally unwind, which is something that can seem so far away at times during the school week. It’s an opportunity to take a breather in a hectic lifestyle that sometimes leaves little time for you to catch your breath.
Of course, all the classes and work that gets done on weekdays is valuable and enjoyable, but it can get tiring.
This weekend, I unwound by sharing a few pitchers among friends at Beat the Clock (a Cal tradition) and hitting up a club in San Francisco to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Plus, it always feels great to sleep in.
But alas, it’s Sunday, and back to the grind. Until next Friday…
