2025: Setting Down Roots

2025 December 31

Last year was one of commitment.

This year started quietly but gradually ramped up into a bit of a whirlwind: we got married… and bought our first house!

Home buying is nuts. It’s a whole ‘nother level of commitment that was bursting with stress and anxiety, but we did it! Now, weekends previously spent attending open houses have switched to yard work and house maintenance.

In the book of life, it feels like we quickly jumped ahead a few chapters this year. Such big milestones and at the end of it, I’m sitting here with my feet up on the couch, in my own house, feeling more grounded than ever.

I feel like I’m setting down my roots again, coming full circle to where my original roots came to be in the Bay Area… before I uprooted them a few times wandering off to Wisconsin and New York. This time, I am firmly planting myself back down and am excited to let those roots dig in more deeply.

Throughout the year, I’ve reflected a lot as we’ve reached these milestones and can’t help but feel grateful for the experiences and support that brought me here and hopeful for what’s to come. It really has been quite the journey to get to this point. Looking forward to turning this house into our home, growing fruit trees in the backyard, and filling it with happy new memories.
