Up In The Air

Now that I spend so much time traveling, I’ve developed ways (not unlike George Clooney’s character in the movie Up in the Air) to spend as little time in airports as possible.

That scene when he lays out his security line strategy: avoid the lines with the children, families, old people, and foreigners; choose the line with the frequent business travelers.

I now follow these guidelines, almost to a tee, and it saves me precious minutes from waiting in line.

It definitely adds up, especially when traveling almost every week. As much fun visiting new places is, constant travel can be a grind.

When I saw the movie way back when, I didn’t think much of it except for that it was a cool, efficient strategy. But it’s taken on a whole new meaning now that I live it.
